The project implementation team Radovljica diStory is in the phase of gathering as much information about the old town of Radovljica, which will be the starting point for further work. The path itself to them is already part of the project, as in the cooperation with the public. A good starting point for work considering as many contents that have already been published in the popular and scientific literature and on the web. These include in particular:
Considering documentary material held by the Radovljica Municipal Museum (old photographs and postcards, field notes and testimonials), it is also a very valuable material that online represents DAR (Digital Archive Radovljica), and more.
We follow the image of the settlement, which began to develop round the parish church and the castle fortress on a narrow promontory above the river Sava to the southwest and above the stream Dol to the northeast. First there was a market place and then with the defensive walls and a moat surrounded medieval town with houses of craftsmen and traders on both sides of the wide road. The image of the walled city from the 15th and 16th centuries, perfected in the 18th century, is largely preserved to this day. As elsewhere, but also on our site the town stories were in the past (and they are still now) created by its people. Therefore, the project will also include this and discover how was the life of Radovljica in the European space and how normal and specific are the stories that colored her image.
